I personally do not agree with an Affiliate Program on Mixer.

That will make Mixer another Twitch platform and Mixer exists to be different and unique.

Personally I think that an Affiliation Program is a way to celebrate mediocrity and weariness with no goals to be achieved what so ever.

It makes all of those who actually put hours of work into reaching actual goals look like fools when affiliation would hand the same perks for no goals at all.

You either work to reach the Partnership goals or you don't. That is something only you can achieve. If you can't reach Partnership goals I would have to say you're not fit to represent the platform and the brand as is.

After all, this is all business and, if you can reach minimum goals like the Partnership ones that already have been tweaked, you're not fit to be an official representative of the platform.

They cannot be merged as they are completely different topics.

One is the legal terms you agree to follow upon account creation (ToS) and the others are Rules of User Conduct that fall under your own behavior with your account in the platform.

Both have to be separate as one follows legal matters and the other follows platform rules only.

Since the Beam days that Suspensions have always been able to be appealed and, if worded correctly, you might have your suspension lifted right away.

If not, you will be suspended for an X amount of time however Guardians are not forced to tell you for how long you'll be suspended as each suspension/ban will be at the Guardians discretion.

it's stated in the zendesk every single step you have to take to make a proper suspension/ban appeal. If you do it right, you're all set to have your account back in no time.

The Suspension time already exists. It's simply not disclosed publicly as it all depends on the case and each case is unique.

The Ban well, it's self explanatory. You're banned. Almost 100% sure there's no turning back from that.

I support this with some added feedback on the matter.

While currently the Sparks and Skills are used for "Cash rewards" for partners only, once Embers get released in 2019 my hopes fall under the following points:

    - Sparks + Skills - available for all streamers so everyone can benefit from them. Everyone earns sparks so, why not allow everyone to benefit from them?

    - Embers - Available for Partners only. Since this system involves real money being donated (Mixer's version of Bits), it makes sense this feature to be available only for the official representatives of the platform/company.

I 100% agree with this but I will add a little bit more insight on the situation.

While the idea of earning influence while watching Forza Horizon streams was a brilliant idea, the execution once again is being poorly managed.

Why do I say this? It's simple.
Having more than a handful of streamers just having a looped segment of the game rolling in their streams is a complete slap in the face to those who are actually playing the game.

Like I mentioned in one of my Twitter rants, and I quote:
"On the topic of #ForzaHorizon4 Influence on @WatchMixer

It's perfectly fine if you want to get Influence to rank up faster, unlock new items and experiences by watching streams.

Just keep one thing in mind, there's plenty of streamers out there actually providing content about this particular game and actually playing it and have fun with their audience and communities.

Instead of going to a stream where all you have is a looped scene and literally nothing else, remember... There's a plethora of streamers who are actually playing the game and interacting with their audience where you can also get Influence from.

Go out there and find those streamers. Be part of their communities... get involved and get to know them. Isn't interaction and getting to know new people better than watching a looped scene?"

So with this, I 100% agree that AFK forza Farming Streams should be suspended, not only for being AFK but also for not providing any content to begin with.

This was recently explained in a Level Up Cast where FTL will automatically adjust to your internet speed.

Basically, if your ISP has hiccups (which every single ISP has) where your internet speed tanks pretty drastically, FTL will automatically adjust the video player according to what your internet can support. Once it becomes stable, it will automatically adjust to a better quality.
This at some point can cause FTL to be turned off if the service cannot handle FTL during one of those hiccups however, the new system will (or should) jump to FTL as soon as your internet is stable again.

When constant buffer or stutter happens, that can also be a routing issue to the distribution servers as well. Your ISP might be doing a roundtrip with multiple rocks on the way to it's destination and those rocks are degrading your connection.

Yet again the Ingest itself (where the streamer connects to) might be having the same issues as well. The routing the streamer takes to the Ingest might be having the same issues and, both combined (if it's the case), will cause those issues to manifest.

Unfortunately all the streamer can do is connect to a different ingest as they are the only ones with that little control where they connect to. But even this can have the same issues as it's the ISP who makes the routing.

I hope this explains what might be happening.

Like orbitJUICE stated, and I agree, you are responsible for the content you put out.

There's a reason why so many streamers don't even have voice chat from other users coming out to their streams and it sounds like they're talking to themselves.

This is called them having control over what the audience listens to. This is what the "someone" you mentioned got suspended (not banned) for.

About Twitch, it's a different platform with a different set of rules and a support team that acts completely different from Mixer.

Mixer was recently praised for how the team tries to keep the platform friendly for everyone with penalties over who intentionally or not breaks the platform rules to the point Twitch and other streaming platforms are trying to step it up to Mixer standards.

That in itself says a lot.

All this to say, if you can't control who's in voice chat with you, then don't have voice chat coming out in your stream.

    Your stream is your responsibility.

The players I agree, they are considerably smaller and they get absurdly small during a co-stream, which to me, makes no sense considering you're there, most of the time, mainly for the stream itself.

On top of that, the MixPlay is currently taking too much space and this ends up taking space from the player itself. Which poses a huge problem as well.

About the games, their plan was to create a section with the top 6 top games by current viewership. Meaning they will change if some increase/decrease. However, if you click "See All" you now have access to a library of all games in the platform with a dedicated search bar. This was the best way to keep it organized without cluttering the page.

I can see the potential however this could easily be abused the same way the filters "Other" and "Web Show" are currently being misused.

What Mixer can implement is a tag system for Categories on top of the game the user is currently playing.

What I mean with this is, we currently have Gaming filters, where, every time a Streamer is playing X game, the channel has to be set to that specific game, adding it directly to the Game filter that is set to.

Adding a Category System to the platform, where this would allow the streamer to pick an X amount of categories to fall into, let's say a max of three with the examples "Shooters" "Mobas" "Variety" "Battle Royale" "Creative" etc. people would be able to select which category they want to see and a panoply of streamers would pop up.

If people pick "Shooters" only shooters would pop up. If people pick "Variety" only variety pops up and so on.

I do like the VarietyZone idea however I honestly see it failing pretty fast as people will easily abuse the system to get noticed, hence why I strongly believe a Category system would be more effective.

While I strongly believe 32x32 would clutter chat fairly easily, considering there's Partners who have pretty busy emotes as it is, in my perspective, the best resolution for the emotes would be 28x28.

It helps with visibility yet doesn't compromise space in chat making it look claustrophobic and cluttered.

    Replying to Jamie

A filter that would allow users to pick either PC or Console. That's a clever idea and a good solution to be provided!

I have to disagree with this.

Mixer isn't in the market to copy other platforms. Like Kaptain Koffee said, and I quote "Lowering the standard doesn’t mean everyone is better or more successful. It means you just have a TON of people reaching that low standard. "

Mixer will soon have a tipping system directly bound to the streamer's Microsoft account (this was talked about in a recent Level Up Cast) so, with this, I don't see necessary any sort of affiliation program.

When we announced the Microsoft acquisition, we mentioned how excited we were about the possibility of integration like this. Of course, implementing this idea will require significant thought and planning. If we were to do something like this, we’d make sure to take the time to get it right.

With that said, we don’t have any specific news to share but wanted to mention that we are open to the idea and will continue to explore.

    Valsis commented  ·

I will have to fully disagree with this idea and the reason is the following.

Mixer is not just a streaming platform but a business that has to get money from somewhere.

If a company hands out free things all the time, that's the recipe for disaster and a business to fail in the long/short run.

The only thing I see viable to be done is, increase the value of Mixer Pro from $7.99 to $13.99 where it would include both Pro features and a Sub for you to use on your favorite Partner.

This would be the only terms I would agree on to be changed.
