Animated skills cost, length of animation and location
I have noticed a mixed review about the animated skills and how they work. I actually like the animated skills, especially in the more quiet and less chat-spammed streams. You have added the option for everyone who isn't interested in this feature to turn off the animations which is a very nice feature to add if people don't want them turned on. Thank you for adding this, and improving the platform we all love!
I wanted to add my two cents or thoughts on possible changes to be considered regarding the animated skills' cost compared to the length of time and location of where they are displayed. For the people who don't want to see them at all and want them disabled, that's a quick and easy solution for them. For some of us that think they're great (like me), I think that for the very short duration that the cost could possibly be reduced (and maybe add a channel cooldown on how often they can be used by user or channel total to reduce spam?) They are quite expensive, and it only quickly animates across a very narrow width of the chat window. So they ARE in fact animated, but in slower chats... last shorter than free emotes you get and can spam for nothing. So, 3 seconds of animation for 50,000 sparks vs. multiple emotes for free that can potentially last longer (depending on chat speed).
Another thought is maybe they could be implemented to use a fraction of the stream viewing window instead of covering the quite narrow chat box? At this time I have not tried to increase the width of the chat box to see if it changes how long the animation plays, but really don't want to sacrifice the live stream view for a few seconds each time myself or someone else might choose to purchase one.
Anyways, just a few thoughts on how I felt about the animated skills and a couple ways they could be improved. Any feedback or ideas from other Mixer community members or staff is welcomed!
Keep up the good work, and thanks for making the Mixer streaming platform and community a great one!
