Allow MixPlay projects to set a "requires FTL" flag that automatically enables FTL in the Mixer app
Today's Mixer Android/iOS app update disables FTL by default, which will cause serious problems for any MixPlay games that depend on a low latency stream.
Our main MixPlay game will now become unplayable for anyone on mobile, unless they've re-enabled FTL. Obviously we'll be telling people to enable it, but there's likely to be a large amount of player churn with people thinking "well, this thing sucks" and dropping out before they realise it's because FTL is disabled.
Whilst the logic for having FTL disabled by default on mobile is understandable (and probably even preferable for non-interactive streams), it would be very helpful if developers could set a "requires FTL" flag on their MixPlay projects that either automatically enables FTL when a viewer loads the stream, or shows a warning dialog ("This interactive stream may not work properly with FTL disabled. Would you like to enable FTL [Yes|No]").
We tried running an interactive game stream last week and user experience was pretty terrible: we were regularly telling people how to turn on FTL, but there were still several "this is unplayable" messages in the chat.
Also, some users reported that the "Turn on FTL" option didn't do anything (still showed "Turn on FTL" even after pressing it). I assumed user error at first, but then one of our regular viewers (who understands what they're doing) reported the same problem.
Again, I know this probably isn't an issue for most people (they're either not depending on real-time, or their audience aren't on mobile), but our games are built around FTL and we have an unusually high proportion of players on their phones.
