(New) Partnership Requirement "You Must Be At least the age majority for region or territory"

Hello Mixer and community, I was a little upset with the new Mixer requirement that got released. I have been streaming for almost 2 years and with 11,800 follows and really wanted to be part of the Mixer Partnership Program. So, the new requirement is saying I have to be eight-teen and that will take 5 more years until I can be a partner. Also, I am upset since I feel like I am missing out on all the new things and just not special or good to be a broadcaster. It also took Mixer 17 days for a response for my application to be reviewed and nothing about my review process. Please remove this requirement. Thanks, Owen

There are currently minor age partners. I presume that this has been handled for child actors for a century now so it honestly isn't that hard. The only thing I can think of is perhaps there's some COPPA (US law) issue that none of us are considering. That said, I doubt it and certainly a parent or guardian can enter a contract with Mixer.

I do not agree with you. like what GrimlockPrime sad. You need to fill out tax forms because your technically employed yourself. I would have agreed with you if one of you're parent or guardian can control the money and to the tax forms for you.

Hello! I am also a streamer who has hit every single requirement, yet I am in the same situation as you. I really wish Mixer would expand their partnerships, because in my opinion, it would expand the audience of Mixer as well. With younger kids becoming affiliated on twitch, (slappie, wintrz, h1ghsky, etc) it expands twitch's audience range astronomically. Not saying Mixer cant compete with Twitch, but a simple feature to reward hard working streamers AND expand their platform sounds like a win win to me.

It got changed Justin I applied and they want the owner of the channel to fill out the contracts tax forms etc. So, basically, whatever "Age Of Majority" like 18 for me or whatever country you live in you can apply if you are a minor then no. Yes there are partners under the age of majority but Mixer did not demote them which I was curious about so I was upset with this it's completely unfair.

You do not need to be over 18 to qualify for the partnership program as long as you parents co sign you contract with Microsoft

GrimlockePrime if the person wishing to be partnered is able to do this, then the age shouldn't matter.

    Hey coin it's me BigBoy

KZ5EE is incorrect in this case, as Twitch allows for minors to enter their partnership program by getting their parents or acting guardians to sign a partnership contract rather than them, and I believe (based on the age of some of the youngest mixer partners) Mixer has done that in the past as well.

It's about a minor not being able to enter a contract. When you become a partner you're entering a contract with Mixer.

Corn Dog. It’s not about the age, it’s about the maturity and commitment the streamer has. If a minor is doing the same thing a partner has, why can’t they be a partner?

  • Savage commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I totally agree with coin. It doesn’t matter on age. It matters on the maturity, and commitment the streamer has. One that communicates with his/her fans, and one that cares for the fans. One that listens to the fans, on ideas, and requests. Even if this doesn’t happen, I think Coin should be a partner. Mixer has a rule on sharing no ages. Why can’t this apply here? On twitch, 13+ can be a partner. I can see that Mixer is more strict, but cmon. If ya can’t beat them, join them! And that’s what Mixer should do. Have a partner ship for miners, or certain minors that fit the job!

So guys the reason why you have to be the Age or of Majority in your region is because when you become a partner you are earning money thus you have to be able to fill out tax forms and such so that is one of the reasons why you have to be the age of majority to be a partner.

This is something that should not be a requirement because they want to say that there brand is for everybody but if your a "Minor" you cant get partnered. Its not like someone kid who has no idea what there doing will become partnered because to hit the numbers and stats needed to have to know what your doing. As a community I don't understand why we havnt been more vocal about this.

I cannot support this enough, partnership was a goal that always seemed near and achievable for me. Up until the new requirement... There really has been no reason for adding it. There are plenty of minor streamers doing well I don’t see why @Mixer would add it now. At the very least I would want to see a detailed explanation for it.
