Mixer – Search VODs Implementation
It would be great if viewers could use the “Search Game” function to find prior VODs of the game as well as streamers currently streaming the game. With lesser known titles, it would be beneficial to find content for a particular title, when there are no streamers online streaming the game. Currently, if there’s no one streaming a said game, then the search results are empty.
Enter VODs into a searchable database for games. Full implementation would include having the section of a stream as “tagged” for playing a particular game. For example, if said streamer is online for 4 hours, but only hour 1-2 (1:00-2:00) of the stream are played with Game X, then when Game X is searched, the VOD when played would start with the 1:00 timestamp (the whole vod can still be viewed, but the 1:00-2:00 timeframe would be highlighted differently).
Search results would appear with consideration to things like who the viewer is following, partners/featured streamers, follower count, and VOD viewing count as priority listings.
This would potentially provide a way for fans of certain games to find content and streamers of the game, and adding them as a follower so they can view when the streamer is next live.
- I want to watch content of Battle Chasers Nightwar, a new (semi-indie) game on Mixer. There’s no one streaming it right now in my language, but there was people who streamed it within the last 14 days on Mixer. To find that content currently, I’d have to possibly check Twitter posts to see if someone was playing, then check into that person’s profile page to view the VOD. With Searchable VODs, any VOD with that game would show up in a list, and I could potentially find a new streamer to watch.
- I’m a huge fan of PUBG and want to watch some PUBG, but it’s 3AM and the only streams up are in German/French/Japanese/a language I don’t understand. Instead, I can search for PUBG content by viewing VOD results, and see that there’s a streamer of Streamer X that I missed from a couple days ago. I can’t watch them live, but I can watch their VOD in a easily searchable manner.

I was just about to write the same!
Early this morning I was introducing my friend to Mixer service and he searched for "iRacing" but didn't find anything. And I'm pretty sure that there are VODs of the game somewhere...
I'd love to see this implemented. One of my favorite interactive games "JumpStream" is built for Mixer, but there's almost nobody streaming it and I have no idea how to find out who is aside from their discord.
How cool would it be to leave a live stream and be able to instantly find the point you left when you catch up in a vod by searching a phrase from the point you left? In my opinion, very
For some reason, there is absolutely no way, currently, to search for past-recorded videos, either by game name or streamer name (unless you are following someone and have their page up)
This is an absolutely essential feature to have on a service like this as it is how a massive amount of people GAIN followers in the first place
For example, I stream the game House Flipper, but I'm new to this and I have very few followers at the moment, and unless I am live streaming at the time, if someone searches House Flipper in the games section, NOTHING at all comes up, even though I have 11 past streams recorded right now (several of which are hours long)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE implement this ASAP!!
I really like the service otherwise and would hate to have to go back to YouTube or Twitch just so people can find my past streams
if they allow this plz have the option to disable it to avoid too much on a screen take twitch for example it shows live channels, latest uploads, live hosts, viewing history, and most recent videos
