Mixer Feedback & Ideas

We love hearing from our customers. To help us build the best version of Mixer ever, we have partnered with UserVoice, a third-party service, to create this site to hear your ideas and suggestions. The teams working on Mixer regularly review the ideas and incorporate them into product planning discussions. While we can’t guarantee any specific features or timelines, we will read all suggestions, and we may also merge and rename suggestions for clarity.

Thanks for helping us to improve Mixer!

  1. List Streamer Name in Pop-Out Chat Window

I'll sometimes use the pop-out chat window feature to have it within another screen while listening to the audio and working and not watching the video.

It would be great to have somewhere in the pop-out chat window have the streamers name somewhere (either maybe in the window title, or just persistently at the top?). If I have a lot of windows open, I sometimes get confused by which chat I'm talking in. =P

  2. abitly

Will be great to add an option to turn off the streaming notification bar along with the ability to move it around the screen as sometimes it comes over subtitles. I never streamed with twitch on Xbox One as comes a banner on the screen "Now Broadcasting" and is very annoying. Hopefully the feature to switch off streaming banner will be implemented soon.
    Thanks

  3. Games in network page

The network page should have the listed game on the streamers that are online. As I go through an extensive list of online streamers, it would be beneficial if I could rapidly see what games they are playing. That way I can decide if I a interested in watching them play that game without having to open all the streams in different tabs.

  4. kee

Keep the navigation interface specific to one part of the screen. Currently navigation is on the left, top, and right of the website and it confuses new users.

  5. Show channels you're a moderator in

Just to make things easier on the user, You should be able to go to your account and see what channels you're moderated in.. Because myself and other people have been added as mods in streams and have no notification/tracker to show which channel that happened to take place.

  7. Downvote Notification

Having reviewed the way your forum works (I'm aware you use NodeBB), I'm a little miffed to why you have upvote on and not downvote notifications.

Could we please have the down vote notifications enabled, as I've noticed posts and topics getting down voted and can't see form those posts why it would be down voted in the first instance other than a user who has a grudge.

If it can't be enabled for specific reasons, then I would ask that Upvote is treated this way as well.

  8. Chromebook Resolutions

I wanted to note that the attached picture is how a normal Beam livestream looks on chromebooks set to their default resolution (1366x768) when the streamer has a soundboard set. It's ok, but I feel like it could be better! I thought I'd bring it up since this will be an increasingly common usecase for streaming as more public schools start rolling out Chromebook-based programs for all their students. (Also, shoutout to Prims! <3)

  9. a option in account>settings to disable streaming stuff if you don't stream

    -hides manage channel
    -limits what shown on Analytics
+ only shows followers and views
    +New followers this period
    (Optional) New followers this period

Teams > not sure what teams are about but if it's just for streaming then that can hide

  10. Relabel "Game You're Streaming" to "Category"

I'll be surprised if this one gets many votes, but it took me a while when I first started streaming to realize that "Game You're Streaming" under "Manage Channel" dictates where you show up in "Browse Streams".

I wish Beam showed non-game streams like talk shows, live reading, art, and whatnot a lot more love.

  12. Is it possible to make an embed code that would show the channels we are hosting on our channel?

Is it possible to make an embed code that would show the channels we are hosting on our channel? This way every time we wanted to change the stream on our homepage GamingLyfe.com, all we would need to do is open our beam app on the phone and host a different channel! Right now every time we want to show something different we have to log into the website and add code "feels bad man" :(

Here is the thread on the dev forums!

  13. Spark Section

I tried to search for this suggestion but I wasn't able to find something similar to my idea. At the top of the Streamers section you can currently sort by: All Streamers, Rising Stars, New Streamers, and Stream Teams. I feel it would be a great idea to add a section called Electric Streamers or something catchy and in that section, the streamers an be listed by how many sparks have been spent in their channel. This would allow people who are looking for more interactive streams can find the ones with the most action. Currently I haven't been noticing…

  14. Get rid of all the unnecessary scripting

I allowed every script I could find and still couldn't use half the buttons on my own channel page. It was a total mess trying to use the page, definitely something twitch doesn't have (which is the obvious comparison and competitor). For example I clicked setup stream and couldn't click any X or other buttons, I couldn't get the popup window/page/thing to close or anything. I also couldn't look for streams I was interested in (tried to search for speedruns or specific retrogames).

  15. Being able to browse the site while the video is still running

It would be interesting to have to continue navigating the site and the video continues to run and showing (getting a thumbnail and in the corner of the screen)

  16. Live Level/Sparks Update

I've noticed one has to refresh the page or open Beam in a new tab to see one's actual EXP, Level, and Sparks counters. Could that become a rolling live update?

  18. 'Replay' button

A button that allows a user to go back 10-30 seconds in the a stream to re-view past moments/catch details. Preferably this would also have a built-in record button that grabs a .gif/video of set length from the 10-30 second period.

  19. Built in Player Selection in Cog Wheel

With the existent option of Video Quality straight in the Video Player, the addition of Audio-Only feature is fantastic however, I believe we're still missing something rather important.

The possibility of choosing which Video Player to use instead of having to go to our account settings, change said Video Player settings and refresh.

It would be amazing to have this implemented in the Cog Wheel alongside with the Video Quality & Audio - Only mode.

Two screenshots will be in this suggestion to support my idea.

    Best regards,
    Valsis (The Soup Princess)

  20. Small qual

Small "quality of life"/"Ease of Access" adjustment. For the new site layout, in streamer's channels, would it be possible for the beam logo that takes you to the beam homepage, and the browse button, next to the streamer's name, to be right clickable? (at least in chrome, didnt test firefox) so you can open them in a new tab instead of leaving who you're watching temporarily, to be able to open more streams you want to watch? As i know many people watch multiple streams at once.
